The water treatment & distribution system is regulated by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks under the Safe Drinking Water Act, 2002 and Ontario Regulation 170/03 (O. Reg. 170/03). The plant is operated by a licensed operator.

The Safe Drinking Water Act, 2002 regulates communal drinking water systems. The Act also provides a framework for testing standards for water contaminants and the mandatory use of licensed and accredited laboratories.

The Water Treatment Plant was commissioned in December 2019. Post commissioning, Calabogie Utilities prepared an Engineering Evaluation Report for the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks that includes a maintenance schedule and a statement confirming that all equipment has been installed in accordance with the Safe Drinking Water Act, 2002.

Each year, Calabogie Utilities prepares an Annual Report available to the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks.
